The specialist activity on this experience is delivered by our licensed skydive operator, working under their own permits and insurance, with a Aura Avenue driver-guide looking after you door to door.
Every operator we subcontract holds the permits, insurance and safety record we would demand of ourselves — checked before we put our name near them. You get the adrenaline; the paperwork was our job.
Practicalities, handled: your driver's WhatsApp arrives the evening before with the exact pickup time; the vehicle carries chilled water and chargers; timings flex on the day if a flight, a nap or a whim demands it. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before travel, and you can pay on the day.

Your day, stop by stop
Morning pickup in Abu Dhabi
Your driver collects you from your hotel and points the Carnival at Dubai — around ninety minutes of motorway, which is precisely the right amount of time to get nervous. Bring your passport or Emirates ID; the drop zone will want it. Your driver has done this run with many jumpers and knows exactly how much conversation you'll want.
Check-in at the drop zone
At our partner operator's drop zone you'll complete paperwork, a weigh-in and an ID check. Then there's typically some waiting — jumps run on wind and aircraft slots, not on ceremony. The viewing deck and the landing zone in front of it are decent entertainment while you wait.
The briefing and the harness
You're paired with a tandem instructor who runs the training: body position at exit, in freefall and for landing. The harness goes on, everything gets checked twice, and the instructor will answer any question with reassuring boredom — they do this many times a day. Nerves at this stage are standard issue.
The climb
The aircraft climbs to around 13,000ft with the Palm sharpening below you the whole way up — the view most people fly here for, and you're getting it from the jump door. Your instructor clips you in tight during the climb. Then the door opens.
The jump
Around sixty seconds of freefall — loud, fast and much less like falling than you expect — then the canopy opens and the world goes quiet. You'll glide for several minutes with the Palm laid out beneath your feet like the postcard it is. Some instructors let you steer; ask.
Landing and the footage
You land back at the drop zone, legs up as briefed, grinning involuntarily. If you've taken one of the partner operator's camera options, the footage is processed while you come down off the adrenaline. There is usually a period of telling everyone nearby that you just did that.
The drive home
Your driver is waiting to pour you back into the Carnival for the run home to Abu Dhabi. Most jumpers manage about fifteen minutes of replaying the video before falling asleep. Door to door, the day typically runs around six hours.
Insider tips
- Take the earliest slot you can. Mornings typically bring the calmest wind — which means fewer holds — and the light on the Palm is better for your footage.
- Bring your passport or Emirates ID in your hand luggage, not your checked mind. No ID, no jump, no exceptions.
- Take the camera package. It's the one purchase nobody regrets and the one omission everybody does — you cannot re-shoot your first jump.
- In freefall, remember one instruction above all: head back, smile. Every grimacing photo you've ever seen was someone looking down at the camera.
- Book nothing for the evening beyond a good dinner. Post-jump adrenaline fades into a spectacular nap, and the motorway home is where it happens.
Questions, answered
Do I need any experience?
None. This is a tandem jump — you're harnessed to a highly experienced instructor who handles everything from exit to landing. Your entire job is to follow the briefing and enjoy the sixty seconds.
Are there weight, age or health limits?
Yes, and they're set and strictly enforced by the drop zone, not by us — weight limits in particular are checked at the official weigh-in, fully clothed. Give us your details honestly at booking and we'll confirm your eligibility before anything is paid. Being turned away at the scales is a miserable way to spend a morning, so let's not.
What if the weather cancels the jump?
Wind rules the drop zone, and cancellations or holds happen — it's aviation, not a theme park. If your slot is scrubbed, we'll help you rebook for another day of your stay and re-run the transfers. The call belongs to the partner operator and it's always the right one.
Can I bring my own GoPro?
No — tandem passengers can't jump with their own cameras, which is a near-universal safety rule rather than a sales tactic. The partner operator offers professional photo and video options with the instructor or an outside camera flyer. If you want proof, and you will, that's the route.
Can my family come and watch?
Yes — seats permitting, they ride along in the Carnival, and the drop zone has viewing areas by the landing zone. Watching you land is genuinely good spectator sport. Tell us the full headcount at booking so we plan the car properly.
What should I wear and eat beforehand?
Trainers that lace on firmly, fitted comfortable clothes, nothing loose, jewellery left at the hotel. Eat a light breakfast — an empty stomach is worse for nerves than a full one is for anything else. Contact lens wearers have it easiest; goggles fit over most glasses, but ask us to check with the drop zone if yours are large.
