Pickup, the shared way
A shared vehicle collects several parties across the city, so you get a pickup window rather than a minute — typically 30 to 45 minutes, starting around mid-morning. We confirm your window the day before. Be in the lobby on time; the rest of the group will quietly adore you for it.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
The morning anchor. You get around an hour among the columns, the chandeliers and one of the world's largest hand-knotted carpets. Dress code applies to everyone: shoulders and knees covered, and for women loose clothing with a headscarf — arrive compliant and entry is painless.
Corniche and palace photo stops
The Corniche waterfront, the Emirates Palace exterior and the presidential district, taken at shared-tour rhythm: everyone off, photos, everyone back on. It moves briskly, and it works when the group works. Your guide keeps the count so nobody gets left admiring a fountain.
The midday switchover
A pause in the early afternoon to eat and change gear — lunch is typically your own arrangement, and it is the moment to swap mosque-modest layers for desert clothes. Then the convoy heads out of the city for the dunes.
Into the dunes
Shared 4x4s, typically a handful of guests per vehicle, with the dune driving delivered by a permitted partner operator. Expect around half an hour of proper up-and-over driving. If that is not your stomach's idea of fun, say so — you can ride to camp the calm way.
Sunset at the camp
Camel rides, sandboarding and henna before the light goes. Walk up the nearest dune for sunset; it is the photograph the whole day was building towards, and it costs nothing but the climb.
BBQ, show, and the run home
A buffet BBQ dinner at the camp with live entertainment, then the drive back. Shared means sharing the drop-off run too, so the last hotel lands latest — you are typically home somewhere around the twelve-hour mark. Sleep is earned.

- Wear your mosque-compliant outfit from pickup and carry the desert change in a small bag — changing rooms are not guaranteed mid-route.
- Prone to motion sickness? Ask the 4x4 driver for the front seat before the dune leg starts, not halfway up the first dune.
- Do the camel ride and sandboarding before dinner — the queues grow once everyone has eaten.
- Climb the dune behind the camp about twenty minutes before sunset; the light goes faster than you expect.
- Carry a small amount of cash or a card for optional extras at the camp — quad add-ons and photos are paid on the spot and are not part of the package.

Is this suitable for children?
The city tour and desert camp, yes — children generally love the camels and the sand. Dune bashing is not recommended for very young children or for pregnant guests, and they can transfer to camp on the gentler track instead. Children's pricing exists and is confirmed at booking; tell us ages and we will advise on seats.
What exactly is included?

Yes. Tell your guide on the day and you will ride to camp on the calm route while the rest of your 4x4 goes the rollercoaster way. No refund applies for skipping a segment, but no judgement applies either.
What should I wear for a day that includes a mosque and a desert?
Dress for the mosque from the start: shoulders and knees covered, headscarf for women. Bring desert-sensible pieces to switch at the midday break — closed shoes, sunglasses, and a light layer for after dark, because the sand cools quickly once the sun is down.
