Adds the east coast and mountains — the country at a humane pace. One booking covers the whole itinerary: hotels, private touring, transfers and the named entries, sequenced so each day builds on the last.

Every package is adjusted to your dates, pace and taste before anything is confirmed. Tell us who is travelling and we will shape it around you.

Multi-day trips live or die on sequencing: which day to spend in the desert, when to see the mosque, where the rest day belongs. That ordering is the craft we sell.

Practicalities, handled: your driver's WhatsApp arrives the evening before with the exact pickup time; the vehicle carries chilled water and chargers; timings flex on the day if a flight, a nap or a whim demands it. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before travel, and you can pay on the day.

The rhythm of the trip

  1. The shape of it · Five days, no doubling back

Two cities, a desert evening, then over the Hajar Mountains to the east coast — drawn as one loop so you rarely retrace a motorway. One driver-guide, one vehicle, luggage handled once. This is the version for people who want the country, not just the skylines.

  2. Days 1–2 · Abu Dhabi and Dubai, at a humane pace

The capital first: Grand Mosque early, Qasr Al Watan, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Corniche. Then Dubai in both centuries — Al Fahidi's lanes and an abra across the Creek in the morning, Downtown and the Burj Khalifa observation decks towards dusk. Because you have five days, neither city is a sprint.

  3. Day 3 · The desert, unhurried

A late start on purpose, then out to the dunes mid-afternoon. Our partner operator handles the dune drive; sunset, camels and a barbecue dinner at camp follow. You are back at the hotel at a civilised hour.

  4. Day 4 · Over the Hajar to the east coast

The drive is the sight today: the road climbs through the bare Hajar Mountains and drops to the Gulf of Oman. You pass Fujairah's fort country and the region's centuries-old mosque heritage, then reach Khor Fakkan's crescent corniche. There is time for a swim — this coast has the clearest water in the country.

  5. Day 5 · The slow road home

A last morning by the water or in the hills, then an easy run back with a stop in Sharjah's restored heritage quarter if energy allows. Coffee stops are a feature, not a delay.

  6. Departure, handled

We time the final leg around your flight, with margin built in. Drop-off at your hotel or the airport — whichever your ticket demands.

Insider tips

  • Pack a small day bag with swim kit for day four — the east coast stop is far better as a swim than a photo.
  • The water at Khor Fakkan is at its clearest in the morning; ask your guide to sequence the coast day accordingly.
  • If Sharjah's heritage quarter is on your last day, note that Friday middays pause for prayers — your guide will time around it.
  • Take the desert evening on day three rather than trying to move it later; it splits the trip into city half and country half, which is the rhythm that works.
  • The mountain crossing has genuinely good viewpoints — tell your guide you are happy to stop, and the drive becomes part of the holiday.

Questions, answered

How much driving is there each day?

The longest day is the mountain crossing to the east coast, at around two hours of actual driving broken by stops. City days involve very little; the desert is around an hour out. It averages out gentler than the map suggests because the route never doubles back.

Do we change hotels every night?

Not necessarily. Many guests base in one or two hotels and let the car do the work; others prefer a night on the east coast to wake up by the sea. We will lay out both options when you enquire — each has its case.

Can we actually swim on the east coast?

Yes — day four is built with a swim stop, and the Gulf of Oman side is calmer and clearer than most first-timers expect. Bring swimwear where you can reach it without unpacking. Public beaches call for modest sense on the walk to the water; once you are swimming, ordinary swimwear is fine.

What does this add over the 3-day tour?

The mountains, the east coast, and — honestly — breathing room. The three-day covers the icons at pace; the five-day sees the same icons without rushing and then shows you the UAE that most visitors never reach. If you are on the fence, this is the one we recommend.

Is it suitable for children or older travellers?

Yes, with tuning. Car seats are fitted on request, the pace flexes, and none of the walking is strenuous — the mosque and heritage quarters are flat. The dune drive has age and health guidance from our partner operator, and anyone can skip it for the camp itself.

When is the best time of year for this route?

October to April is the sweet spot — warm days, cool desert evenings, pleasant mountain air. Summer still works because the route is flexible: we weight mornings and interiors, and the east coast sea stays swimmable. We will be straight with you about what your dates allow.
