Boardwalks and shoreline trails through the mangroves on easy pedal-assist bikes. A small-group experience in Abu Dhabi, run to a standard we would put our own name on — because we do.
Allow about 2 hours door to door. Departures are kept small, kit is provided, and hotel pickup can be added at checkout.
This is the version of the city you cannot see from a tour bus: rooms, tables and streets chosen by people who live here, sequenced so each stop makes the next one make sense.
Practicalities, handled: your driver's WhatsApp arrives the evening before with the exact pickup time; the vehicle carries chilled water and chargers; timings flex on the day if a flight, a nap or a whim demands it. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before travel, and you can pay on the day.

Your day, stop by stop
Pickup and fitting
Your driver-guide brings you to the trailhead on the mangrove fringe, typically fifteen minutes from downtown. Our partner operator fits helmets and sets saddle heights, and you ride a two-minute practice loop to feel the pedal assist. Most people grin at the first push of the motor.
The shoreline trail
The ride starts on flat, hard-packed trail along the water's edge, mangroves on one side. The assist does the work; you do the looking. The pace is conversational.
The boardwalk crossings
Sections of boardwalk carry you over tidal channels, taken slowly and single file. At low tide the mudflats below are busy with crabs and wading birds. Your guide stops where the watching is best.
The viewpoint
Around the halfway mark there is a proper stop — water, dates, and the downtown skyline sitting behind the green. It is the photograph, and also simply a good place to stand still for ten minutes.
The loop home
The return leg runs with the breeze at your back more often than not. Bikes go back on the rack, and the air-conditioned Carnival takes you to your hotel.
Insider tips
- Take the earliest slot you can bear. Low tide plus morning light is the best version of this ride — the mudflats are busy and the heat is not.
- Resist turning the assist to maximum. The middle setting keeps you at the pace the scenery deserves.
- Polarised sunglasses earn their place — the glare off the water hides most of what is moving in it.
- Stop pedalling when your guide points. The birds tolerate a stationary bike far longer than a moving one.
Questions, answered
I haven't cycled in years. Can I do this?
Almost certainly. The trails are flat, the pace is gentle, and pedal assist flattens any effort — it feels like cycling with a permanent tailwind. If you can balance on a bike, the rest is handled.
Can children ride?
Confident young riders are welcome on smaller frames, typically from around ten years and subject to the minimum height the bike sizes allow. Tell us ages and heights at booking and we will confirm what our partner operator can fit.
How hot will it be?
We schedule mornings and late afternoons and skip the midday hours. Moving on a bike generates its own breeze, which helps more than people expect. October to April is genuinely pleasant; summer slots run early.
Are we riding on roads?
No. The route uses dedicated trails and boardwalks along the mangrove fringe, away from traffic. The only things to give way to are joggers and the occasional heron.
What should I wear and bring?
Trainers, light clothing, sunglasses and sunscreen. Helmets and water are provided. Anything you carry should go in a small backpack — you will want both hands on the bars for the boardwalks.
