Ship to city and back with a driver who watches the all-aboard time as closely as you do. This is a fully private experience in Abu Dhabi: your own vehicle, your own driver-guide, and an itinerary that flexes on the day.

Your driver meets you at the pickup point, loads the luggage and handles the road. The price is fixed when you book — no surge, no meter anxiety.

The point of a good transfer is that nothing about it is memorable: the car is waiting, the driver knows the terminal, and the price was settled when you booked.

Practicalities, handled: your driver's WhatsApp arrives the evening before with the exact pickup time; the vehicle carries chilled water and chargers; timings flex on the day if a flight, a nap or a whim demands it. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before travel, and you can pay on the day.

How it works

  1. Book with your ship and date

Give us the ship's name, the docking date and your all-aboard time, and we build the day backwards from that deadline. One fixed price covers ship to city and back. Cruise timings vary by line and itinerary, so we anchor everything to your ship, not a generic schedule.

  2. We watch the ship

Berthing times slip — weather, port traffic, a slow tender somewhere back up the itinerary. We monitor your ship's arrival and adjust the pickup so your driver is there when you actually walk off, not when the brochure said you would.

  3. The terminal meet

Your driver waits at the Zayed Port cruise terminal exit with a name board, on the right side of the security line. Straight into a cool Kia Carnival with cold water waiting. No shuttle-bus scrum, no negotiating at the port gate.

  4. The city, close by

Central Abu Dhabi is typically around 15 to 20 minutes from the berth, which is the quiet luxury of this port — the Corniche, the Grand Mosque and Qasr Al Watan are all within easy reach. Your driver-guide drops you exactly where you want to start and confirms the return plan before you part.

  5. Back with a margin

The return pickup is timed against your all-aboard, and your driver watches that clock as closely as you do — it is the entire point of the service. You are back at the terminal with a comfortable buffer, not sprinting up a gangway. Missing the ship is a story we intend to keep never telling.

Insider tips

  • Double-check whether all-aboard is ship's time or local time before you leave the terminal. It is the oldest trap in cruising and it catches someone every sailing.
  • In summer, do the outdoor sights first thing and save air-conditioned interiors like Qasr Al Watan for the midday heat. Your day will feel twice as long, pleasantly.
  • Carry some dirhams in small notes for market stalls near the port; cards are fine almost everywhere else in the city.
  • Photograph your driver's name board and the meeting point when you part ways — five seconds of admin that makes the return effortless.
  • If your ship overnights in Abu Dhabi, ask us about an evening run — the Corniche and the mosque are at their best after dark, and the traffic is at its politest.

Questions, answered

What if the ship docks late?

We track the ship's actual arrival, so the pickup moves with it — no standing at a kerb wondering where your driver went. Your day plan compresses gracefully rather than collapsing. This is the main reason cruise passengers pre-book rather than chance the port taxi queue.

How close is the city to the port?

Very — typically around 15 to 20 minutes from Zayed Port to the Corniche and central Abu Dhabi. The Grand Mosque and Qasr Al Watan are similarly reachable. Abu Dhabi is one of the rare cruise stops where you spend your shore day seeing things, not commuting.

When should we head back to the ship?

Plan to be at the terminal at least 60 to 90 minutes before all-aboard, and remember all-aboard is usually set in ship's time, which is not always local time. We build the return pickup around that buffer. Your driver will hold the line on departure time even when the souk is being persuasive.

Can the driver stay with us all day rather than drop and return?

This transfer covers ship to city and the timed return. If you want the car and driver-guide on standby between stops, ask us about our hourly chauffeur service instead — for a full shore day with several sights, it is often the better fit. We will tell you honestly which suits your plan.

What should we wear if we visit the Grand Mosque?

Modest dress: shoulders and knees covered for everyone, and loose clothing is more comfortable anyway. Abayas can be borrowed at the mosque, and non-Muslim visitors are welcome outside prayer times. Comfortable shoes help — the courtyard is larger than it looks from the postcards.

What do we need to get back into the port?

Your cruise card and photo identification — keep both on you, not in a shopping bag. Security at the terminal is straightforward but real. Allow a few extra minutes for the port entry procedure on the return.
